First cinema critics award "KINOKOLO" has selected winners

At the end of October in the premises of the famous «Zhovten'» cinema during the second "Kyiv Critics Week" opening ceremony the first national Cinema critics award «KINOKOLO» ceremony was held.

«Kyiv Critics Week» – an international film festival, founded with the purpose to introduce ukrainian viewers to the best new films, selected by the proffesional cinema critics.

The «KINOKOLO» Award was founded in 2018 by initiative of Andriy Rizol', the Head of Association of Ukraine Cinema Development and Support - Watch Ukrainian! and Denys Ivanov, Chief Executive of «Arthouse Traffic» company.

 - I'm very pleased to support such an important event as the «Kyiv Critics Week» and first of all the «KINOKOLO» Cinema Critics Award - a very nice alternative to the professional award - the «Golden dzyha» award, that already has a certain status in film industry. It will be interesting to compare views of both - the film creators and the spectators, who watch this process and evaluate it. - Mentioned  the Head of Ukraine State Agency on Cinematography, Pylyp Illienko. 

National cinema critics award marks the cinematography success withing the past year on behalf of "Ukraine Cinema Critics Union" non-profit organization. 

 - I'm glad that we have decided to found this award in April and now it is already taking place. I consider this award a very important step in ukrainian cinematography development», - emphasised Andriy Rizol', the «KINOKOLO» Cinema critics award co-founder and the Head of Association of Ukraine Cinema Development and Support - Watch Ukrainian!

Winners selection was performed in the form of opened democratic voting by 33 experts: ukrainian film critics and cinema reporters, who's choice resulted in the І «KINOKOLO» Cinema critics award.

Best Film Director  - Serhiy Loznyzia for the film «Donbas».

Best actress/actor - Irma Vitovska for the film «Brama», director Volodymyr Tyhii and Viacheslav Dovzhenko, for the film «Cyborgs», director Ahtem Seitablaiev.

In nomination "Opening of the year" has won the film director Marysia Nikitiuk for the film «When the trees fall». The winner award has become a real gift for her birthday. 

Best documentory - film «Delta», director Olexande Techynskiy.

The film by Dmytro Suholytkiy-Sobchuk - «Weightlifter» won the award in best short-story feature film nomination.

Best feature film award was given to the «Donbas» drama by Serhiy Loznyzia.

 - "I want to thank Andriy Rizol and Denys Ivanov for initiating the cinema critics award foundation. Often, during the festivals, when it comes to the full-length film award, it is used to say that this nomination is the most important one. As to my opinion, ALL nominationa are important!", - expressively mentioned Volodymyr Voitenko, the Head of the «Ukraine Cinema Critics Union», co-founder of the «KINOKOLO» Cinema critics award,  while giving the award to Denys Ivanov, the ukrainian producer of the «Donbas» film .
