The results of «YOUR OWN CINEMA-2» film script contest are announced

On May 30 in the premises of PinchukArtCentre the official press-conference was held, announcing the results of the second film script contest «YOUR OWN CINEMA-2»

The distinctive feature of «YOUR OWN CINEMA-2» contest works is the film duration of 3 minutes screen time. Alike the Season one, all adapted short films will be demonstrated in cinemas in the trailers commercial block. Thereby the Jury evaluation of Contest works was based on dramatic completion of the story and possibility to adapt it for the screen in ultra short-time duration. Members of The Jury are both famous and talented film directors and cinema chains and film distribution companies reps, who actually form the film making industry trends in Ukraine.  The Jury was also joint by writers, actors, and social-corporate business reps. Such a wide range of Project participants allowed Initiators to achieve stories, that will draw attention of a broader audience and it allowed to understand which topics and synopsis are mainstream.  Participants submitted their works in three categories: «Partnership for the future», «People create the future» and «My city». This season topics preferably covered the social issues,  self-fulfilment stories, and topics solving social problems unlike last year season, which covered the topics of war and battles in the East of our country .

Unlike last year, Contest Initiators select the 10 best scripts (it used to be 20 winners in the Season one), that will be rewarded with the sum of 10 000 UAH and adapted for the screen.

As soon as the results of the «Your Own Cinema-2» film script Contest are announced, on June 2018 the screen adaptation period for the new season of the “Watch Ukrainian – create your own future!” Project starts. 

As of the results of the first film script Contest 18 film have been shooted (out of 20) and 8 following films have been already completed: «The Paper heart» (director Oles Sanin), «Doors» (director Nataliia Davydenko), «On one's own territory» and «The Shrove Sunday» (director Sasha Kyrienko), «The Voice» and «The Elevator» (director Mykhailo Illienko), «Mono» (diretor Andriy Donchyk), «On the edge» (director Olexander Ityhilov), these films have been screened to the audience of around 1 000 000 people in ukrainian cinemas (“Watch Ukrainian – create your own future!” project films are being shown ib the trailers commercial block before main show).

The “BABYLON” Company and Association of  “Ukraine Cinema Development ans Support – watch Ukrainian!” are the Project promoters and developers.. Project Season two general partner is «Raiffeisen Bank Aval», «Your Own Cinema-2» film script Contest Official partner is Igor Iankovskyi Foundation «Initiative for the future».

The Project is implemented under support of Ukrainian State Agency on Cinematography.
